Booking
It’s best to contact us as soon as possible!
For maternity sessions, the best time period for pregnancy photos is between the 26th and 32nd week, though this can be flexible. Please contact as as soon as you’re into your second trimester.
We advise you to contact us a few months in advance of the desired booking date to avoid our wait list. As Jay only shoots on the weekends, his calendar books up fast.
The Process
Consultation: your personalized portrait experience begins with a consultation prior to your session. During this time we will discuss your portrait dreams, the colors that sing to you, fabrics and wardrobe that appeal to you, poses that speak to you, and more. Together, we will plan a custom experience that fits your tastes and desires perfectly!
Hair & Makeup (included): on the day of your session, you will be pampered like a queen! Our professional hair and makeup artist will tastefully enhance your natural beauty while you relax in a climate-controlled room with snacks and beverages at your fingertips, all while adorned in a silk robe and slippers. As an added bonus, our stylist will stay for the duration of your photo session providing touch-ups as needed. *Hair & makeup generally takes approximately one hour.
Wardrobe: a wonderful selection of pure silk, chiffon, and tulle fabrics are available for your use, as well as, several maternity dresses. The usage of these items are complimentary, or, if you desire, you may bring your own timeless dresses, fabrics, a favorite pair of jeans, or mementos to be incorporated into your images.
The Session: during your photo session every effort will be made to make you feel beautiful & comfortable. A female assistant (who happens to be Jay’s wife!) will be in the studio at all times, attending to your every need, while Jay uses his lighting and photography skills to create your art. Sessions are relaxing & laid back and typically take 2 1/2 to 3 hours after hair & makeup.
Retouching: Having studied under some of the best beauty retouchers in the world, Jay is capable of creating whichever look you desire! Just say the word and with a wave of his magic (stylus) wand, your art pieces will be created your way.
Reveal & Selection: Within a week after your photo session, you will meet with Jay for your in-person reveal and ordering session. (YAY!!) During this time you will view a breathtaking slideshow containing your best images! Next, you’ll choose which images you would like for your prints, albums, reveal box, and wall art pieces. There is no minimum purchase. You buy only the photos you love!
